The SSIG will take place 16 and 17 September 2025 at Statistics Austria in Vienna, starting at 9:30 on the first day and ending at 13:00 on the second day.
It aims to continue the fruitful exchange started during the Web Intelligence Network project and to bring together experts from national statistical institutes and partner organizations working on the development and implementation of innovative web data methods, with a focus on statistical web scraping.
The SSIG is co-organized by Statistics Netherlands and Statistics Austria and co-financed by Eurostat.
Call for abstracts
We invite you to participate in the coming "Statistical Scraping Interest Group". SSIG organizers invite abstracts in the area of developing or working with web data sources, targeting the following topics:
Application of statistical scraping
Augmenting official statistics with web data,
Generating new statistical insights from web data,
Methodological developments related to web data,
Methods to estimate the quality of web-based statistics, including quality frameworks and indicators,
Application of machine learning to web data,
Open-source solutions for gathering, processing or analysing web data,
Experiences in the transition from traditional to web data sources in the statistical production.
Requirements for abstract which should be submitted by 31 August 2025:
Abstract word count should not exceed 500 words. Abstracts must be submitted in English. Use short and simple sentences. Do not use jargon. Explain all used abbreviations. End abstract with 1 to 5 keywords.
